My Summer Bucket-list

Whilst Christmas will always be my favourite Holiday, Summer will always be my favourite Season. I am one of those people who hate being cold but also hates being sunburnt and having to apply sun-cream every five minutes so the English Summer is perfect for me! When I think back to my favourite Summer so far, I think back to 2015, the year I turned 18 when I saw both 5 Seconds of Summer and Taylor Swift live in Concert, met Bethan Leadley, graduated from Secondary School and spent 10 days in Sorrento, Italy. I am determined to make this Summer just as amazing so here are 10 things I want to do this Summer.

Visit Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens is a botanical garden in London that offers the largest and most diverse botanical collection in the world. I have lived in London for three years now and somehow have never visited?!? I am not entirely sure how I have managed this but I am determined to change that this summer. I have seen quite a few photos on Instagram of the gardens this summer so I am excited to finally be able to see it myself and take my own photographs.

Visit Prime Meridian

Based in Greenwich, the Prime Meridian is the reference point for astronomical observations  and is the reference line for Greenwich Mean Time. I have been here one before on a school trip but would love to visit again, along with the observatory there.

Have a Picnic in Hyde Park

Hyde Park is the largest Royal Park surrounding Kensington Palace but is also such a beautiful place to visit and have a Picnic on a summer’s day.

Take Graduation Photographs

For those of you who are not aware, I graduate this summer. I have already seen countless graduation photos from America since their graduation is earlier than the British one, including some controversial ones that have gone viral, so I am very excited to graduate and be able to take my own.

Complete an Online Course

As a child, I loved school because I loved learning. It was only when homework, revision and exams were introduced that I lost my love for learning and for school and started to dread having to spend my days there. Now that I am finally free of higher education, I am excited to learn more about what I want to learn about without the added pressure of exams.

Host a Dinner Party

I turned 21 earlier this year which means I am officially an adult. One of the most adult things I can think of are dinner parties and so to welcome my two best friends into their 21st year, I am excited to host a dinner party for them.

Attend a Scavenger Hunt

A Scavenger Hunt is defined as a game in which participants have to collect a number of miscellaneous objects. There are a few hunts already set up in London, including a Sherlock Holmes inspired one, or I could create my own with the help of some friends.

Attend an Outdoor Cinema

Outdoor cinemas and drive-in movies are commonly featured in rom-coms and look like so much fun. I have never attended one even though I have often seen them advertised online so I am excited to finally see what the fuss is all about.

Go to the Beach

It is a tradition of my two best friends and I to take a day-trip to Brighton, a beach in Southern England, popular for its stony beach and pier. I hope this year will be no different.

Have a Festival-Inspired Photoshoot

I uploaded a post a few weeks ago about my favourite outfits from Coachella 2018 but since Coachella was held in April, it was too cold in England to recreate the outfits. Therefore I am excited to come up with my own festival-inspired photoshoot in summer when it is warm enough to wear tank tops and shorts. I have already stocked up on glitter in preparation.

What is on your summer bucket-list?

    1. Thank you! I am so jealous – London is incredible but it is also so busy and the nearest thing to a beach is the Thames. Hoping to have a day trip to Brighton to be near the beach again.

    1. Picnics are definitely one of my favourite summer activities. I didn’t realize they were a thing until I saw a post on Facebook – I also want to go to a drive-in movie but I think it’s an American thing sadly.

    1. Thank you! I finally have a dress picked out so fingers crossed it will go with the gown – I graduate in orange borders so trying to find a dress has been a mini nightmare. xx
