It is officially the start of June and we are almost halfway through the year. It is insane how quickly time has passed – it feels like only yesterday I was on a flight back from New York City on New Year’s Day! I am excited for all that June has to offer but especially because it is my month of collaborations. I hope you are all as excited as I am.
My first collaboration is with Alyswho blogs about lifestyle and mental health. We decided for our post to write about something we are grateful for every single day in May. Keep reading for my month of gratitude or click here to check out Alys’ post.
Day 1: Collaborating with Alys. Her blog is a recent find of mine but I am absolutely loving all of her posts, especially her Conversations with Anxiety.
Day 2: Completing my Presentation. My final presentation for my course was today and it went surprisingly well, considering how little time we had spent preparing it as we were more stressed about our exam the following day.
Day 3: Finishing my Exams. My mental health always takes a sharp decline when I am stressed and so I am so happy to finally be done with exams, possibly forever, so I can focus on myself for a while without education getting in the way.
Day 4: Crazy Friends. As mentioned previously, yesterday was my final exam so of course everyone went out drinking that evening as celebration… fully aware that we would have to get up at 8am the following day ready for a day of roller-coasters. Probably not the best idea but surprisingly no one threw up!
Day 5: My Mum. To celebrate the end of my exams, she came up to London and treated me to lunch at my favourite restaurant.
Day 6: Work. I am so fortunate to have a job that I genuinely love and pays well.
Day 7: Bank Holidays. I do not have to work bank holidays which meant I had a day off of placement. I celebrated with a picnic in the park and had one of the best vegan sandwiches I have had in a while. I also tried vegan Brownies which tasted like malt loaf – it is the thought that counts!
Day 8: Nice Clinical Educators. It is a well-known fact that as a medical student, you will get at least one terrible placement and whilst I had already had mine, I always fear that I will be one of the unlucky few to have a second. Thankfully that is not the case.
Day 9: My Coursemates. Since there are about ten of us on placement today, we always go outside and eat lunch today and it is honestly one of the highlights of my day.
Day 10: My Course Best Friend. On the placement I am on currently, I am with one of my best friends and it honestly makes such a difference to the placement. We are both incredibly supportive and complimentary of each other and it gives me such a confidence boost.
Day 11: Liv Vargus. Liv is a lifestyle YouTuber who is also vegan and I genuinely adore her – she is one of the most positive people I know and her videos always put me in such a good mood. She just moved into a flat with her best friend and I am so jealous.
Day 12: My Sister. We went out to dinner at one of her favourite restaurants for her birthday and it got me thinking about how lucky I am to have a sister that I genuinely love and get along with. Sure we have our fights like any siblings do, but I know that I would not swap her for the world.
Day 13: New Season of Niki and Gabi. Niki and Gabi are twin YouTubers who are best known for their lifestyle channel but they also have a reality TV show on AwesomenessTV. It is incredibly cheesy and overdramatized but I cannot help but love it.
Day 14: Movie Nights. I had to work late today so I was exhausted and it was so nice to be able to curl up with someone and watch a movie.
Day 15: Grace. Grace finished her exams last week so we both went out for a celebratory meal. We decided to go to a vegan pub in Angel, The Blacksmith and the Toffeemaker – they honestly do the best vegan macaroni cheese, I would highly recommend. The company was not too bad either…
Day 16: Wedding Wednesdays. I have attended two weddings over the past two years and have another coming up this month so I would be lying if I said I had not started to think about what I would like my own wedding to be like. Liz from music duo Megan & Liz is getting married this year and every Wednesday, she shares another video about the process of arranging her wedding.
Day 17: Being Featured on Alys’ Post about Bloggers Who Inspire Her. It honestly made my day.
Day 18: Patients who thank you for your time. I discharged one of my patients home today and he thanked me for my time and effort and told me it was a pleasure to have known me.
Day 19: Love. Today was the Royal Wedding, the marriage between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the way Harry looked at Meghan as she walked down the aisle really made me excited to fall in love.
Day 20: Oreos and My Mum. Every time I visit home, there is always a new packet of Oreos sitting on my bed since it is well-known how much I love Oreos.
Day 21: Flowers. I was bought flowers today because I was not feeling well and it honestly made my day.
Day 22: Coffee. I literally cannot comprehend how anyone manages to stay awake the entire day without it.
Day 23: Ffion. No matter how many times I have ranted about the same topic, she is always there to listen and offer advice and always asks me how my day is.
Day 24: Dogs. One of my best friends always tags me in dog posts on Facebook and whilst it makes me miss my dog, it honestly makes my day. We do not deserve dogs.
Day 25: Salted Popcorn. The perfect snack whether you are happy, angry or sad.
Day 26: Retail Therapy. My bank account may hate me for it but nothing makes me feel better than looking and trying on pretty outfits.
Day 27: Laura featuring my post about Mental Health. Sometime I forget that the people that follow my blog are real people and it honestly warms my heart to know that I have made an impact on someone else.
Day 28: Go Ape. I am so grateful to have found someone who loves adventure and climbing as much as I do. The weather was perfect for it as well – sunny but not too hot.
Day 29: Books. I have always loved books and their ability to transport me to somewhere new for a few hours. I always make sure I have a book with me for the tube rides to and from placement and work. I am currently reading Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver if you are interested.
Day 30: Tacos. They are my favourite Mexican food and I love them because they can easily be made vegan by using beans and rice instead of meat.
Day 31: Anna & Grace. For my birthday they gave me a series of letters to open when I am feeling different emotions – it is such a sweet idea and I would recommend doing for your best friend if you can.
