I have previously seen quite a few bloggers upload posts with this title and thought that they were such a good way to update others on what is currently happening in your life. Two of my favourites are Jamie’s and Chloe’s. Since there is quite a lot going on in my life at the moment, I thought it would be the perfect time to upload my first one.
If we were having coffee… I would tell you that I am both excited and nervous to graduate this summer. I am excited to finally be out of full-time education after 16 years as it has been the primary motivator behind my struggle with anxiety and depression but I will definitely miss the protected environment that you live in during full-time education.
If we were having coffee… I would tell you that I do not know where I am going to live once my lease ends on my University flat. I am currently struggling to decide between staying in London in a flat with flatmates and finding a job in central London or moving home to live with my parents again and finding a job there. There are many pros and cons to both decisions and I would appreciate any advice if you have been in a similar situation.
If we were having coffee… I would tell you about my need to have some time-off. I have been in full-time education for the last 16 years as I did not take a gap-year and the idea of going straight into full-time work does not excite me. I am not sure of my plans as of yet, whether I am going to stay at home and work on my hobbies or whether I am going to travel and visit some new places, but I am definitely not in any rush to find a job at present. I currently have a part-time job that means I will still be making money but will still have time-off to relax during the week.
If we were having coffee… I would tell you how excited I am to be going on holiday this week, although I will currently be on holiday whilst you are reading this. I love travelling to new places and I am excited to spend a week exploring and lounging on the beach with a good book.
If we were having coffee… I would ask about your plans for the summer. The days are longer and warmer in summer so it is the perfect time to visit new places and try new activities.

Hey this is really cool, I love this idea!
Congratulations on graduating university soon! That’s a huge accomplishment and release. I just graduated with my bachelors last year and I took a gap year and phew do I feel a release and back in my right mind! ❤
I hope you enjoy your holiday! 🙂

Uhh it all sounds so exiting – however, I do get your debate with yourself whether to move to busy and exiting London or move back to recharging and comforting Home. I really don’t have much experience, so I’m probably not the ‘right one to ask’. However, if I was you I’d really ask myself what I want – and try not to be too scared or anxious. No one will be able to answer that question for you, because it’s your life and you know what’s best for you. I wish you all the luck I’m capable of giving – have a wonderful week and enjoy your amazing holiday ❤ xx

Exciting but yet nerve-wracking at the same time as I have to start applying for jobs and I haven’t interviewed in 3 years! Thanks for the advice – to be honest I want a mixture of both. I think the general advice I have been given is to move home for the time-being until I get a job and then decide. xx

I totally understand your dilemma about moving home Vs staying with flatmates. Several of my friends/flatmates at uni stayed on and lived together while looking for a job. Thing is I didn’t really know what I wanted to do, nor was I really in a financial position to be able to afford to keep renting somewhere when I didn’t have a job. I decided to move home but still look for jobs in that area with the possibility of moving back if I got something. I think you need to work out finances but personally I was also just ready to move back home and spend more time with my family. One thing I do regret that happened though is because I did move home and most of my friends stayed up there is I kind of got pushed out of the group. They’d no longer include me in group chats/meet ups because I wasn’t around. It is a hard choice to make though 🙂

Thanks for the advice! Most of my friends are moving home so I dont have to worry about that for the time-being and I only have enough money for a few months and tbh I think I would prefer to travel than pay rent. I think I’m going to let where I get a job decide for me. xx

That’s a good way to look at it 🙂 when I finished my undergrad I just looked at jobs close to home, but then I finished my masters I was applying all over 🙂

I was super nervous to finish education too – so I did a masters ahah, I also didn’t know whether to go home or stay in Bath but Bath stole my heart so I chose to be poor for longer ahaha, I’d say just go with your gut xx

If I had an idea of something I wanted to do a Masters in, I would have. I’m going to move home for a few weeks and let my job decide where I live. Thanks for the advice xx
