Whenever I think of Autumn, I think of new starts and the build-up to Christmas. For me, Autumn has always been associated with starting a new term and new year of school and this year will actually be the first year that I am not in full-time education. Autumn is also the last season before Christmas so is often filled with the planning and buying of Christmas presents and various Christmas-related celebrations. Since this will be the first Autumn that I am not in education and due to the success of my Summer Bucket-list, I thought I would write a list of 10 things I want to achieve this Autumn.
Learn How To Play 3 Songs on Guitar
I have been a huge fan of Taylor Swift ever since Love Story was released and she is a huge inspiration behind me wanting to learn how to play guitar. I have had a few lessons over the years but I would like to take the time to properly learn how to play 3 songs, with the aim of one of them being a Taylor Swift song.
Learn How To Sign 10 Basic Phrases in British Sign Language
Being a medical professional, it is important that I am able to communicate with patients in order to establish why they are seeking medical treatment. British Sign Language is one of the ways that I will be able to communicate with patients. I have previously been taught the alphabet but I would like to learn some common phrases to use in everyday conversation.
Learn How to Use Manual Settings for Taking Photographs
I love taking photographs but I always use the digital settings on my camera when I do. I would love to learn more about manual settings and how to use them in order to get the best photograph. Luckily both my phone and camera have manual settings so I can play around with the settings no matter which device I am currently carrying.
Have A Spa Day
I have never been to a Spa. Whether this is an at-home Spa or an actual Spa, I would love to spend a few hours pampering myself one day.
Attend A Bonfire Night with Friends
In England, we celebrate the Fifth of November as Bonfire Night to commemorate the failure of the Gunpowder Plot. I normally attend the same Bonfire Night every year so this year I would love to try a new place with friends, especially one with a wider selection of food stalls and entertainment.
Attend a NFL Game
My boyfriend, Tom, is a huge NFL fan and has gotten tickets to see his favourite team, the Seahawks, play in London in October and I am accompanying him. I have never been to a NFL game before so I am excited to finally see it in person.
Start A Travel Journal
I have had a scrapbook since I was as young as 11 but over the past few years, I have found that it has fallen in my list of priorities as education and work has come first. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to start a travel journal, combining my love of writing and scrap-booking to document my travels over the next few years.
Complete A Yoga Session
I have been told countless times about the health benefits of yoga, including increased flexibility and reduced anxiety in day-to-day life, so I am eager to try it for myself and see if I found it helpful.
Redecorate My Room
Now that I have moved back to my parents’ home following three years of University, I am excited to redecorate my room now that I am no longer the 18 year old starting University for the first time.
Apply For At Least One Job
Now that I have finished University, it is finally time to get a full-time job. Whilst I am in no rush to get a full-time job, since I already have a part-time job with the possibility of over-time and I am currently enjoying having free-time to pursue my interests since I did not take a gap year, I would like to have applied for at least one job by 2019.
What is on your Autumn bucket-list?

November is National Novel Writing Month, so I’d love to at least try this out for my fall bucket list! No idea if I’ll actually be able to finish it though haha

You should definitely write a list – it is a good way to set goals for yourself and keep focused during the Autumn. Good luck if you do decide to write one! X

yes to new starts in autumn 🙌🏻 and HOW COOL that you’re trying to learn some sign language, i’ve always been interested in learning that! & a bonfire night sounds like so much fun 🔥🔥

It took me the longest time as a kid to realise there are different sign languages for different countries – WE NEED A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE! You should definitely learn if you find time, it definitely comes in useful at times.

i didn’t really realize till I read your blog! i can see it being SO useful & honestly kind of a cool trick to pull out! especially if someone is hard-of-hearing, i’m sure they really appreciate having someone to talk to more easily 😊

Loved this! I attended a couple of BSL classes over summer and it was so easy to pick up and weirdly fun too, you’ll have a great time. I hope you manage to tick off all of these things during autumn, I’ve no doubt you will! ❤

Love this list! Learning manual settings on my camera is possibly the best thing I’ve done creatively – it gives you so much more control and insight into your photos, it’s so valuable! Great post Hannah ❤ xx

Thank you Chloe! I think it is also good to change your room with the change in seasons, even if this is just changing the photos in the frames in your room or adding a plant. xx
