A Week Of Christmas

Christmas Countdown:  1 Day Till Christmas
Happy Christmas Eve! I cannot believe that there is only one more night’s sleep until Christmas Day – it feels like only yesterday it was September and now we are almost at the end of December and 2018! Hope everyone has managed to purchase all of their Christmas presents and has had a festive December filled with Christmas-themed activities. I certainly have.
The first week in December was filled with lots of Christmas-themed activities for my boyfriend and I. I am someone who loves Christmas and believes that Christmas-time begins as soon as Halloween is over cue why the first week of December was packed with Christmas-themed activities.
The Christmas-themed activities began on Sunday 2nd December when my boyfriend, his housemates and I decided to head to Winterville on Clapham Common. Winterville has been marketed as the smaller Winter Wonderland but honestly, it could hardly compete to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. The rides and food were just as expensive but the venue itself was a lot smaller, meaning that there was less to see and do, and you had to pay an entrance fee, which is not the case in Winter Wonderland.

On Tuesday 4th December, my boyfriend surprised me after work with an evening of Christmas-themed activities. The evening began ice skating at Somerset House which has been on my to-do list since I first moved to London three years ago. The ice rink was definitely busy, being so popular, but we still managed to have a good time without injuring anyone else or ourselves.

After ice skating, we headed to Leicester Square for dinner and a drink at Mod Pizza as well as to check out their Christmas Market. I was surprised at how many stalls there were that were similar to those at Winter Wonderland! We then headed to the Prince Charles Cinema to watch The Holiday with wine and mince pies. If you have been following my blog since last December, then you will know that The Holiday is my ultimate favourite Christmas movie so it was the perfect end to the evening. Thank you so much to my boyfriend Tom for such a lovely evening.

On Saturday 8th December, my boyfriend and I decided to make a gingerbread house. We purchased a pre-made pack from Asda as we did not have gingerbread house biscuit cutters. This meant that we only needed to ice the pieces together and decorate them which was easier and a lot less time-consuming. I think our gingerbread house turned out really well – what do you think?

I was also fortunate enough to participate in a UK-based Secret Santa this year. Huge shoutout to Katy for organizing it and thank you again to my Secret Santa for getting me the perfect gift.

What is your favourite Christmas-time activity?
